What do Utility Gloves Protect you From?

Utility Gloves protect workers from burns and electrocutions and most gloves are tested for APTV Ratings.

(APTV) stands for Arc Thermal Performance Value. The ATPV is measured in cal/cm2, and it’s defined as the maximum incident heat energy that a fabric can absorb and lessen the injury to a 2nd degree burn.

What is a Calorie?

A calorie is the energy needed to raise 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius. Second-degree burns may occur from 1.2 calories/cm2.
